TCL has been dedicated to developing Mini LED technology, and after three generations of technological innovation, has become a pioneer and leader in the Mini LED TV industry.
In 2019, TCL launched the world’s first Mini LED TV, leading the industry trend.
In 2022, TCL launched the new generation 4K Mini LED product C12E based on DBR chip coating technology and dispensing technology, which won the “EISA PREMIUM MINI LED TV” and “EISA BEST BUY LCD TV” awards.
Local Dimming Control
By using hundreds or even thousands of LEDs in the backlight to control different areas of the screen based on brightness, Local Dimming technology enhances the viewing experience by bringing higher contrast and more details to consumers.
As TCL Mini-LED technology develops, Local Dimming is constantly improving. With an ultra-high number of backlight zones, Local Dimming algorithms can achieve more precise control of smaller areas, further enhancing picture quality performance.
In 2021, TCL introduced the new AM Local Dimming TV, the X11 (C935) series, featuring industry-first AM custom driver ICs, 2304 ultra-high zones, ultra-low latency, and QD-Mini LED technology leading the industry in display technology.

TCL’s self-developed AiPQ Engine uses enhanced AI technology to comprehensively process content types, visual elements, and audiovisual environments based on how humans perceive the world, reconstructing immersive and lifelike images for a comfortable, high-fidelity, all-scene, and immersive viewing experience.

With over 20 years of experience in TV picture quality calibration, TCL’s expert team enhances every aspect of display performance, including contrast, clarity, colour, motion, and smart scenes. Additionally, TCL employs self-developed automated production calibration technology to ensure the best display for every TV unit and provides professional calibration tools for users to meet their different preferences.
NXTPAPER (2.0)
As average daily screen time increases, TCL developed NXTPAPER in 2021 to ensure users could work and enjoy entertainment without compromising eye health. Thanks to software and hardware breakthroughs, TCL NXTPAPER 2.0 is up to 150% brighter than the original.
Dazzling with up to 500 nits, users can enjoy crystal clear screens even under the brightest sunshine, making relaxing outside with the latest movie a pleasure. This brightness is achieved, exceeding TÜV levels of blue light reduction, all while maintaining life-like color and deep contrast in the images on its displays.
TCL NXTPAPER 2.0 means TCL NXTPAPER devices are now even easier to use in bright light thanks to anti-glare display technology by incorporating multi-layer screen protection – diffusing light rather than altering it. Plus, the integrated light sensor automatically adjusts colour temperature, further protecting eyes over prolonged use.
